Hippy Holidays
Have a great Holiday season from Monsters and Girls.
I know it's been a while since I updated. I'm working on stuff, some of which I can't talk about yet. I've been thumbnailing a lot of Amelia, and I'm pretty close to finishing the story!!!

Art School Fraud interview
Radical Warren and Matt Young, of Art School Fraud interviewed me, you can listen to me talk about myself for a long time!
The interview takes place in our local watering hole, CJ's at Than Wheelers.
http://artschoolfraud.com/
I'm listening to it right now, and am very uncomfortable with the sound of my own voice and the things I'm saying.

Halloween and my birthday
Hi all,
Here are photos from this year's WRJ halloween parade and dance.
some samples.
Archie and the Riverdale gang.
I'm some kind of creature guy who likes corduroy and rum.
Also, yesterday was my birthday. I totally had a surprise party thrown.
Here's a sweet piece of art that Radical Warren made for me of Amelia and her boys!
Awesome.

Pre Halloween Weekend
My last weekend before Halloween this year was pretty busy with horror themed things consuming it!
First I went down to Keene New Hampshire for a signing at Comic Boom!
Where the owner, Corey, gave us a real nice set up,
Steve Bissette, Cat Garza, Colleen Frakes, Jon Chad, Penina Gal, Josh Rosen, Bill Volk, and Betsey Swardlick all came to sell and sign their books!
Steve Bissette welcomes you
Colleen tries to work while an undercover vice cop describes the feel of polyester
My Books!!
Then after that we went to Spooktacular III, ran by the creatures from Saturday Fright Special
me with one of the hosts, Scarewolf
The movie was Brides of Dracula, it was at a beutiful old theatre, there was a costume contests, the hosts were great, all in all it was an awesome show.
The kind of show that reminds me of Atomic Age Cinema, one of the Atomic Age Cinema folks, Dave Underwood, sent me this email,
The crew from THE DARK CARNIVAL FILM FEST have teamed with HORROR HOUND magazine to put on a live HALLOWEEN SPECIAL this Saturday night (October 24th) at 8-11 Pm (Eastern). It will also be re-broadcast on Halloween night from 8-11 Pm
The show will include: Monsters, Demons, Zombies, Vampires, Werewolves....blood, guts....and an assortment of other MONSTROUS and TERRIFYING things TOOO horrible to mention.
If you live in Southwest Ohio, or Southern Indiana, you can access the show on Time Warner channel 991 or AT&T channel 99. You can also access it on the internet by going to: www.mvcc.net....then click on "TV/VIDEO SERVICES"..then click on "LIVE STREAMING VIDEO"...then click on "CHANNEL 991" (Remember, a Broadband Connection is needed for best results!)
TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS!
So, I missed that, but hopefully I'll get to see it at some point.
THEN!,
I got interviewed about Monsters & Girls: Amelia parts 1 & 2 by Curt Purcell over at the Groovy Age of Horror.
Here's the direct link.
Curt Purcell asked some really in depth and tough questions! So check that out, it's got some art I sent him that I've never posted here, and I go into the origin of Amelia as a character. And I'd recommend checking out the whole blog, especially since my interview is sandwiched between 2 really crazy fumetti posts that make my comic look like your typical bland american.
okay, talk to y'all later,
Denis

This last Saturday I went down to Summerville, MA with Colleen Frakes and Bryan Stone to Hub Comics
There we met up with Caitlin Plovnick, Cat Garza, and Mario Van Buren to sell and sign comics.
photos courtesy of Colleen Frakes, thanks.
It was a good show, I was in good comics company, had a fun time, ate some good food.
THIS NEXT Saturday.
I'll be at Comic Boom! in Keene New Hampshire
Selling and signing again, this time with Steve Bissette and Nick Patten.
This will also be on the same day as the Saturday Fright Special's Spooktacular II,
Copies of my comics will be going up for raffle during that! If you're near the area it's definetly worth the trip!
I went to Spooktacular I and had an awesome time, they show really nice prints of the movies on a huge screen in an old school theater, do the whole showmanship thing, throw things at the audience, etc.

Post SPX post
I had a lot of fun at SPX this year.
Me with Funny Aminals, one fo the anthologies I put some stuff in this year.
I brought my camera, but forgot to take it out at the Con. Highlights were meeting Gahan Wilson, and Cat Garza adn Colleen Frakes winning Ignatz awards. Congratulations to both of them.
Two books I'm really pumped about reading are Only Skin 4 and Snake Oil 4!
I'll post more soon.

SPX 09
I'll be in Bethesda next week for SPX. I'll be selling Amelia part 1 and 2 and will also be in two anthologies.
the first, Dark Corners, one of the 4-square books from I Know Joe Kimpel, will have a Sammy story that I've already shown one sample of.
Here's another, I'll show another soon.
The second, Funny Aminals, edited by Bryan Stone and Jeff Lok (Lok is in Dark Corners with me), I only contributed art for this one, but I'm proud of it.
Check out Steve Bissette's blog for art he did for Dark Corners. And go to Funny Aminals for samples and videos and other things.

Go check it out, and the blog while you're at it, it's cool, I like it.

wedding
My cousin, Meghan, is getting married on saturday! I'm going out to California for the wedding.
Here are some illustrations I made for the wedding program. The concept for them was Meghan and her fiance, Humberto's, idea.
I'm really happy for Meghan and Humberto, and I wish them both the best.
There's more drawings I'll post later this week.
