most of these are straight to ink doodles. I was having a hard time working on a page so I grabbed a junk piece of paper and tried to do some freeform ink doodling. As usual I only drew monsters and girls. Here's the monsters, next post will be the girls.

I decided to post the comic Mangia La Mia Carne! (Eat My Flesh!)
That I did for Werewolf!V (4)
that Rob Clough described like this, "Quirky horror artist Denis St. John's "Mangia La Mia Carne" is a bizarre bit of fetish-fiction about a woman who is a bit too turned on by what wolves can do."

Sammy comic and more DCFF

I did this comic as part of my 24 hour comic book day activity. I went out on the streets of Montpelier for an hour or so and came back with some cool comics, some Berni Wrightson comics an Alien Worlds comic and an I Vampire comic.
I drew out the panels with no idea what would go in them and then picked random panels from the comics I had just bought and drew them into random panels on the page, then concocted a Sammy story around it.

Happy Halloween!!

Oh October, you are my month
I was in Bloomington all week for Dark Carnival Filmfest
had a great time with friends, sold some comics, did other stuff.
I missed my flight back to Vermont due to weather and so missed the Spooktacular showing of Frankenstein Meets the Wolf-Man.

I did this as a raffle prize for Spooktacular!
While I was in Bloomington I saw my brother, Liam, and we did these hillarious jam drawings,



did I mention that Dark Carnvial did an indoor fire show?

So on October 1st I taught a monsters and comics workshop for kids in Montpelier to coincide with 24 hour comic book day. I'm sure I've talked about it here before.
I wanted to show examples of different kinds of monsters and different kinds of the same type of monster. SO, for Werewolf 3 I did this illustration.

which perfectly illustrates different kinds of werewolves, but is a little too sexy and bloody for kids, so I edited it for them,

Chapter 11, October and horror

SO,
I'm going to Bloomington for the Dark Carnival Filmfest. I'll be tabling with Werewolf.
It's going to be a lot of fun, I'll give you more details about it as the time comes.
But, I wanted to talk about Amelia 4. Which will be debuting there.
Here's some samples from Chapter 11(You'll remember chapter 10 samples here and here). Relatively spoiler freeish.

Big Read and Werewolves

So a couple weeks ago I was touring around Vermont teaching comics for Vermont's Big Read
It was a cool experience, in one week I toured about 5 high schools and saw many classrooms. The idea was that all the kids read The Things They Carried and then wrote monologues based on the idea of truthfulness, and then I came in and taught them how to make the monologues into comics. It was a pretty crazy week, and then since then I helped edit a book that's going to be printed today of some of the selected comics and monologues. I haven't seen the book yet, but I'm excited about it.
For that I also taught the same lesson over CATV, so people can learn at home, and I happen to have the video of that right here. You can watch me be super nervous in front of a camera,


Okay, wow that was embarrassing.
I've also been working on comics, Amelia of course, but also a new Werewolf Comic.
It's called Mangia La Mia Carne a.k.a Eat My Flesh and it's going to be in WEREWOLF !V (4). Which is debuting at MeCaf this year in a couple weeks. I'll be there also.
Anyway, the comic is super crazy, maybe my most disturbing comic to date. for now here are a couple samples.

MoCCa 2010

So, I won't be at MoCCa this year. Sorry all my friends and fans who planned to go just for me :-(
