Stephen Bissette art!!

All around awesome guy Steve Bissette has done amazing portraits of two of my main characters. Sammy Bissette Mustache Man Bissette Steve knew who I was drawing influence from. So heres Vincent Price as The Mustache Man and Peter Lorre as Sammy. See, that's why Steve is awesome. Anyone could have figured out that the Mustache Man looks a lot like Vincent Price, but who else would have figured out that Sammy was drawn from Peter Lorre. I actually have old sketchbook drawings from before Sammy appeared in the comic where I was trying to figure out his look and he was much more Peter Lorre then. Before I added the Nosferatu influence to him. These sweet drawings are available inside the pages of Amelia parts 4 and 5, both will be at MoCCA this weekend.

Whisper in the Darkness

So the Main Street Museum here in White River Junction was severely damaged by Tropical Storm Irene. As a fund-raiser for it, they're going to be putting on the Vermont Premiere of the H P Lovecraft Historical Society's Whisper in the Darkness.

Here's the trailer for it!

As part of the fundraiser they're putting together books, I've made some art for them, as have other local cartoonists. Here's my Mi-gos and mysterious stones.

October sketchbook and movies 1

I rewatched Santa Sangre last week. It's an awesome and insane Joderowski movie.

I made some fan art for it.
In case you haven't seen it, here's the trailer,

Also, more fan art.
I'm a big Richard Sala fan, so here's some fan art. This is a sketchbook scribble of a Peculia panel.

movies and videos

I go to see horror movies when they come out to theaters near me.
A lot of the time they're very bad. I love horror movies, and will always go to a horror movie, but man, it's so frustrating when I pay good money for bad movie.
One movie that I saw in theaters and was actually BETTER than I expected was The Uninvited (despite it having a terribly generic name that didn't really apply to the movie at all). A couple days later I drew this in my sketchbook,
theuninvited
So anyway, I'm a fan.

What else am I watching and looking at?
A lot, but I wont go into all of it, i saw Fear(s) of the Dark, and it was awesome, I saw older movies. But what about movies and videos made by friends and people I know?

I don't know what's going on with Atomic Age Cinema these days, The Cinemat has closed down, so I don't know if they're still doing weekly shows or not, but The Baron and the Doctor were at Horror Hound promoting Dark Carnival.

My friend, Mike Poley, is doing sketch comedy in Orlando Florida, I watch it on YouTube.

Also, I have two more pages to go on Chapter 7 of Amelia. Then I'll start showing samples of it up here. My plan is to have the book ready to go for MoCCA.
