Amelia 3 cover and beer

I re-colored the cover for Amelia 3, which is available at IKJK.  Have I mentioned that before?
The original print run had a screen printed cover, but as soon as that runs out the new ones will have color printed cover.
Here's the new one,
Amelia2cover again
Here's a scan of the original,
coverscan2
So you can see it's not that different, just a little deeper colors.

Also, I've been working on this high school play, it's been a lot of fun, Here's the website
It's running this Valentine's weekend, if you're in WRJ you should go!
Anyway, since characters in the play drink beer, but this is HIGH SCHOOL I made fake beer labels that go over root beer cans. Here's the label.

Happy Valentine's weekend all you happy people...

Amelia 3 cover finished

So here's one of the finished covers from the new Monsters and Girls.
coverscan2
First I screen printed the cover,
which I hadn't done in a long time. I used a green paper and a blue paper.

Then I printed the eyes on label paper and cut them out with an exacto knife,

Then I stuck 'em together. I think it looks good, here's the other color,

So, I still have to print the guts, I'm waiting on some fan art first (if anyone out there has any they want to send my way...)
Have I mentioned yet I have a new roommate?

The second, Funny Aminals, edited by Bryan Stone and Jeff Lok (Lok is in Dark Corners with me), I only contributed art for this one, but I'm proud of it.

I also watched two movie marathons in two days. A Star Trek-athon on Monday and a samurai fest yesterday. I'm actually a little movie exhausted, a little.
I'm super excited to see Drag Me to Hell this weekend though!

Also, check out this particularly disturbing panel from Chapter 7 of Amelia,

SOLD OUT

Amelia cover
Monsters & Girls is sold out!
I just received word that Monsters & Girls: Amelia is sold out at I Know Joe Kimpel and there is a back log of orders!
Not to worry though, I'll be making a new run of M&G shortly, and for anyone who has to wait for an order because of me I'll throw in a secret gift!

In other news, I'm getting ready for MoCCA, I have a place to stay and a table to put my stuff on! I'll be at the I Know Joe Kimpel table again this year. So I'll see you there, June 6th and 7th!

I'm working on coloring the back cover for the new issue. I want to emphasize that this is still a work in progress.

Amelia color cover

cover2color1
Here's my first attempt at coloring the cover for the next issue.
I'm not sure I'm happy with it yet, I think I made the wrong choice for the eye color, and I don't know if I like the green. So I'm still working on it.

Also, this saturday the current crop of seniors at CCS graduates, which I suppose means it's been a year since I graduated. Congrats to the seniors, it'll be exciting to see yall walk. I'll try and take some pictures and stuff and post them on here on sunday or monday.

Amelia Update!

Amelia Pin Up poster
I made this little piece of art initially just for the heck of it, then I thought it would be a good promotional piece. It was inked with pitt pens and the scanner I used was dirty or calibrated incorrectly or something. The color and the faux old paper background were added in photoshop.

Then there's this!
Amelia Part Two Cover (B & W version)
click it to go to my flickr page and look at the larger version for a closer look at all the squiggly wormy veiny things

This is the finished inks for the cover of the new comic. I'm coloring it in photoshop right now. You might recall from earlier my concept sketch, here.

Easter zombies

The Living Dead and the dying living are all the same. Cut from the same cloth. But disposing of dead people is a public service, whereas you're in all sorts of trouble if you kill someone while they're still alive.
-Dellamorte Dellamore

In a celebration of the resurrection yesterday, my room mate, Jon-Mikel Gates put on a zombie marathon.

While watching a bunch of shorts and 3 movies I was on my sketchbook, working on the next chapter of Amelia and a short story.

I also drew this,
issue2coveridea
Since convention season is coming up it's time to start thinking about production. So that's my new idea for the cover of the next issue of Amelia. What do you think?
