Busy Week

CCS is on spring break this week, but I'm not slowing down!
All week I'm teaching a comics workshop At Oxbow high school!
Today was the 1st day, it went well. We did a jam comic and I gave some basic rules of cartooning.

I'm also stationed at the CCS library today and tomorrow, come on down and I'll check some books out for you.

I also need to finish my werewolf comic (1 more page to pencil, 7 to ink!)
I also am going to start inking something else (secret!)
I also need to watch Lost tomorrow!!
I also need to catch up on Caprica.
Okay, this is degenerating. Here's two panels from Chapter 8 of Amelia.

Come to S.P.A.C.E. to get the latest Amelia comic, most likely a convention exclusive.

I am working!

Hey all,
I know I haven't shown any new Amelia stuff in awhile. But I have been working on it. In fact the rest of the story is completely thumbnailed and I'm happily drawing away. I pretty much finished inking chapter 8 yesterday. Here's some samples from it.

I'll show some more later this week.

In other news I'm teaching a workshop at a local highschool (by local I mean 30 minutes away) next week! And I'm going to to to S.P.a.C.E. this year!
I'm sharing a table with fellow CCS alumn Matt Young. More on that later.

HorrorHound and sketchbook

I checked out the latest issue of HorrorHound
and found an article about horror hosting.

The article mentions Atomic Age Cinema and shows a picture of them.
The folks from AAC are also emceeing a Vampira retrospective in Indianapolis this March. So if you're in the area check that out. I wish I could.

Here's a couple sketches I've done recently.

a comic book store I actually like

I flew to Ann Arbor, Michigan this weekend to celebrate Mardi Gras. I'll let that go unexplained.

Whenever I'm in Ann Arbor I go to The Vault of Midnight, a comic shop I actually like.
vault_of_midnight
Here it is, on Main Street.
It's brightly lit, the staff is nice, it's two stories, it seems to get a lot of walk in business and younger people.

One of the things I really like about it is the way it's organized. Every section is well labeled, the kids comics are in the front, the small press comics are in the back.
Then there's tables and racks filled with staff selections and stuff like that.
The downstairs is long boxes and other stuff. The other stuff consists of a bookshelf of Hernandez brothers books among other stuff.
Here's their website

Of course one of the things I like most about them is they sell MY comic.

Have a good Mardi Gras everyone.

Do you watch Parks and Rec? is it just me, or is Ron Swanson stealing my look?
